Job Description

To oversee, stimulate, guide, and support the Group Sales, Catering and Conference Services Department to maximize overall revenues; maintain positive interdepartmental communications; contribute to the overall direction and operation of the hotel and to effectively control and minimize all marketing expenses while exceeding overall budgeted revenues and occupancy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full maximization of rooms potential.
  • Maintain emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines.
  • Assist Director of Marketing in developing, maintaining, and implementing strategies/ action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
  • Stimulate productivity of all sales staff through guidance, development, and support.
  • Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a Proactive Solicitation environment.
  • Develop, maintain, and assist with the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis.
  • Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
  • Ensure a challenging and exciting environment to encourage full career development and personal growth.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience leading a team of sales managers in a hotel enviornment in a senior sales or national account management role.
  • Must be a self-starting team player that contributes positive energy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Excellent ability to conduct group presentations, written and oral.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary.
  • Strong business planning, account planning and budget management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue.
  • Demonstrated ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results.
  • Strong financial/statistical analysis and business case development skills.
  • Strong understanding and expertise in the sales process.
  • Extensive experience with account management.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
