Job Description

The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is seeking a Director of Sales to lead their sales team! This individual will maximize revenues for the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park through direct sales, marketing and designated activities specific to targeted sales accounts. Success is measured through increased revenues from the targeted segments, improved account revenue share and increased customer value.

 

Location: On-property in Atlanta, GA. NOT remote

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage effective business plans for assigned segment.
  • Effectively maintain accounts to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify and stay abreast of industry trends to provide leadership and education regarding the business segment.
  • Work closely with DOSM to effectively communicate new trends and develop strategies to increase revenue.
  • Responsible for management of customer decisions and the relationship process.
  • Responsible for directing and leading activities through internal and external resources.
  • Define and improve customer value proposition by assessing the competitive area as it relates to segment.
  • Work closely with all levels of the organization to resolve complex issues or concerns; communicating in a clear concise manner.
  • Responsible for training, mentoring and directing of sales managers and sales coordinators.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a minimum of five years progressive experience in hotel sales, with at least two of these years in a leadership position. 
  • Large convention hotel experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to delegate, effectively train, develop and motivate staff.
  • Mastery level understanding of the sales process.
  • Strong business planning, account planning and budget management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue.
  • Demonstrated ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results.
  • Strong financial/statistical analysis and business case development skills.
  • Extensive experience with account management.
  • Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary, working effectively under pressure.
  • Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Developed computer proficiencies with ability to accurately input information into computer systems.
  • Delphi experience required. Proficient in use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 
  • The ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time. The ability to lift up to 20 lbs and push/pull up to 40lbs.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Position requires up to 25% travel.
