Job Description

Omni Hotels and Resorts creates genuine, authentic guest experiences at over 60 distinctive luxury hotels and resorts in leading business gateways and leisure destinations across North America. What sets Omni Charlotte Hotel apart is its design aspects inspired by Charlotte's gold rush with a nod to precious metals, coins and extravagance found throughout the 374 guestrooms, Trade restaurant, a redisigned exterior façade and motor lobby, and Uptown’s best rooftop venue - Coin Bar.

 

The Omni Charlotte Hotel is seeking for a dynamic, creative, high energy Sales Manager to market the Hotel's services locally and nationally, build guest relationships and business opportunities, and interact with prospective groups and negotiated guest contracts.  This position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be responsible for developing and booking assigned markets with emphasis on production from small to mid-market groups. Be a part of the newly built Sales Team that is leading Omni Charlotte to the top of the charts.

 

This position is part of Omni's "Work from Home" policy! After your 90 days of employement you will be eligible for "work remote" privileges, in which you can earn various remote work days. Please note, there are guidelaines and responsibilities to adhere to with this program, and can be discussed further with the property.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, actively solicit, and map group business accounts per defined territory
  • Must be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilities
  • Merchandise function space and attain maximum average rate and room rental wherever appropriate
  • Deliver proposals and contracts within 24 hours of request
  • Maintain aggressive weekly phone/in person solicitation
  • Achieve budgeted room night, rate and revenue goals
  • Follow Booking Guidelines
  • Conduct site tours and communicate thoroughly site tour needs to other departments
  • Maintain files, and current trace dates, accurate history and all relevant booking activity
  • Participate in ongoing forecast process
  • Participate in daily and weekly sales meetings as assigned
  • Active involvement in industry-related activities
  • Follow-up promptly on leads generated by the National Sales office, Convention and Visitors Association and other Omni Hotels
  • Client contact and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings
  • To be familiar with all hotel facilities and amenities
  • To be familiar with local attractions and businesses
  • Assist with the career development of sales/catering assistants
  • Represent the Omni Brand and Culture at all times; meeting the expectations outlined in the Omni leadership competencies
  • Be actively engaged with our guests and hotel associates, demonstrating and rewarding "All In" behaviors
  • Support a positive work environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings
  • Attend department meetings and company required trainings
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Must have strong customer service, communication, presentation, and selling/closing  skills
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of managerial sales experience
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
  • Prior hotel sales management experience required

 

ENVIRONMENT and POSITION ANALYSIS

  • Exterior of hotel and Interior of hotel, in normal office conditions. Sit and utilize telephone/computer for an extended period. Requires travel capabilities. Stand/walk throughout the shift and lift/carry and place objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance. Requires repetitive motion.
