Job Description

Lead and Manage the efficient operation of our kitchen. Responsibilities include training staff, and ensuring product availability for all restaurant or banquet items. The role involves directing proper sanitation and organization of kitchen facilities and equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment for staff. Additionally, the manager will conduct daily meetings with kitchen steward and warewasher staff to discuss operational concerns, enforce  standards, and instill a sense of teamwork and cleanliness among associates. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment. They should also be proficient in using kitchen equipment and adhere to organization and sanitation guidelines.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Training of Staff and motivate staff to produce a high kitchen morale
  • Responsible for product availability for outlets, banquets and IRD
  • Ensures proper sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
  • Ensures that all kitchen equipment is in good working order.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all food prep and production areas.
  • Conducts a month end inventory of all products.
  • Assist in controlling food cost.
  • Assist in producing and plating plates.
  • Prepare and properly store food items for advanced production
  • Monitors safety of staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. 
  • Requires repetitive motion.
  • Must have valid Food Handler certification
  • Previous supervisory or mangerial experience in a union enviornment is strongly preferred
  • Must have experience working in a fast paced hotel kitchen
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbal and written) in English with vendors, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
