Job Description

The Vice President of the Shared Services Center (SSC) will be responsible for establishing, leading, and optimizing Omni Hotels & Resorts’ Shared Services operations, encompassing:

  • Finance – accounting functions, including finance, payroll, accounts payable, receivables (credit, collections, OTA billing, and payment applications), and general ledger management.   Manage a BPO (Business Process Outsourcer) to handle transactional aspects of these processes.
  • Human Resources (HR) – Manage recruitment and benefits administration for both corporate and property-level operations.

This leader will drive operational excellence by focusing on streamlined accounting processes, data-driven performance, customer satisfaction, strong internal controls, and cost optimization. They will also develop and manage service level agreements (SLAs) with properties and key corporate stakeholders to ensure alignment and service quality.

This position is on-site, based out of the Omni Hotels & Resorts Corporate office in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company-wide Shared Services function to standardize accounting and HR processes, enhance operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvements in transactional finance using lean principles.
  • Manage the relationship with the Business Process Outsourcer, ensuring contract compliance and the accurate measurement and timely updates of KPIs and SLAs.
  • Oversee finance and HR vendors, along with contracts related to activities within the Shared Services Center.
  • Prioritize internal customer service and satisfaction by regularly publishing a comprehensive Shared Services performance dashboard (covering cost, quality, controls, and customer satisfaction) and engaging key stakeholders in performance discussions.
  • Establish annual performance goals for the Shared Services Center (SSC) in collaboration with the CFO/CHRO and key internal stakeholders, including executive leaders, property finance teams, and corporate departments.
  • Monitor and uphold SLAs across all core finance processes managed by the SSC, ensuring alignment with property finance and corporate requirements.
  • Serve as the final escalation point for service quality concerns between properties and the SSC.
  • Provide regular performance reports to the CFO/CHRO, measuring outcomes against predefined SLAs and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure SSC processes adhere to industry’s best practices, initiating process improvement initiatives where needed.
  • Maintain clear, updated, and well-documented SSC policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking of SSC process costs to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive the team to meet targeted cost savings through effective budgeting and financial controls.
  • Develop and manage the SSC’s annual budget, including property chargebacks.
  • Collaborate with internal audit to uphold compliance and governance, proactively monitoring risks, barriers, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and develop a team of finance and HR professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and managing both on-site and remote support staff.
  • Establish strong communication channels and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, corporate controller, finance, accounting, treasury, tax, risk, and technology teams, as well as property finance, operations, and HR leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • CPA or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in public and/or corporate accounting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in hospitality property-level finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing multi-functional shared services operations preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, including IFRS.
  • Familiarity with ERP finance and accounting systems, as well as POS and PMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing shared services organizations.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
