We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Temporary Golf Course Superintendent to assist in overseeing the grow-in and reopening of our golf course. This is a temporary position, expected to last approximately 6 months, with the potential for extension depending on project needs.
• Oversee all aspects of the golf course grow-in, including turfgrass installation, turfgrass establishment, turfgrass surface preparation, irrigation system management, bunker preparation, and other related tasks.
• Regularly inspect course conditions, identifying and addressing issues related to turf health, pests, and irrigation.
• Manage and train maintenance staff, delegating tasks and ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Oversee the procurement, maintenance, operation and utilization of all maintenance equipment and supplies.
• Protect the company’s interest by an awareness of and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including property and company policies.
• Work closely with the Director of Golf to coordinate course scheduling and utilization along with the implementation of cultural programs that have a guest impact.
• Work closely with the Corporate Director of Agronomy to coordinate all key agronomic practices.
• Attend staff meetings, Manager meetings and meet with members as required.
• Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture along with a working knowledge of course renovation and grow-in
• A degree or advanced education pertaining to the science of golf course management.
• High degree of administrative and executive ability including effective written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency
• Must obtain and maintain state sanctioned pesticide application certification within 2 months of employment.
• Thorough understanding of the proper use of fertilizers and their application
• Thorough understanding of the proper irrigation of turf as it relates to turf health and course conditioning.
• Ability to prepare the golf course for play according to the rules of golf.
• Valid driver’s license
