Opening in Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a Natural Spring inspired full-service spa and entertainment pedestrian plaza featuring high-end shopping, amphitheater, charter boat docking and beautiful promenade. The new iconic landmark offers unforgettable views of the Atlantic paired with unrivalled convenience and intelligently designed meeting spaces. The hotel will be directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, immediately adjacent to Port Everglades cruise terminal and less than two miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

 

Job Description

Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel!

 

Opening Fall 2025, the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors & drives appropriate compliance levels of all Omni Hotels Life Safety Programs, training and SOP directives. Reports identified deficiencies to the Director of Loss Prevention.
  • Responsible for assisting with the training and development of departmental and applicable training.
  • Creates LP schedules to ensure LP staff are properly assigned at all times.
  • Monitors performance & execution levels of all LP associates.
  • Reviews all reports completed by LP associates to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
  • Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents).
  • Maintains surveillance procedures throughout the property.
  • Ensures that all phases of the key control program are maintained and any discrepancies noted are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Director of Loss Prevention.
  • Monitors all traffic in the lobby, restaurant, restrooms, parking area, bars, and back of the house area.
  • Ensures that all hotel service levels are maintained, and provides assistance when necessary.
  • Acts as the hotel representative when resolving guest problems and concerns.  Ensures that all details of guest situations are documented and communicated to appropriate department personnel.
  • Provides daily training and consistent coaching to LP associates.
  • Participates in recruitment events and the selection of new LP associates.
  • Ensures follow-up communication and appropriate documentation with necessary departments to ensure hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards are resolved.
  • Ensures that all Security equipment (uniforms, push to talk radios, cameras) are kept in good working condition.
  • Conducts a monthly department meeting. (All Together Get Together)
  • Periodically inspects exterior of building.
  • Conducts annual and New Hire Safety Training.
  • Conduct a monthly Safety Committee meeting and follow-up on any issues.
  • Coordinates associate locker inspections and bag checks.
  • Monitors First Aid Kits throughout the Hotel.
  • Completes Moments of Service Checklists monthly.
  • Distribute Daily Hotel Incident/Accident Log to EC Committee.
  • Conduct a Semi annual hotel fire drill with the Director of Loss Prevention and Director of Engineering.
  • Conducts monthly Fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Understands all emergency procedures and is able to execute processes during times of emergency.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a minimum of two progressive Loss Prevention/Security experience in a hotel or related industry, with at least one year in a leadership position. Large convention hotel experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to delegate, effectively train, develop and motivate staff.
  • Able to set priorities for the loss prevention team and provide feedback to others that enhances performance.
  • Ability to teach employees importance of, and how to greet guests and courteously solve requests.
  • Must be First Aid and CPR certified and/or willingness to receive such training.
  • Must be conversant with OSHA guidelines and workplace safety standards. Experience preventing loss, incident reporting and interacting with high profile clientele.
  • Must present registration as unarmed security guard/officer with the state of TN within 45 days of hire.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers. This includes via email, telephone and two way radio.
  • Ability to facilitate trainings to hourly and leadership staff.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems(intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office)
  • Must be able to reach various areas of the hotel at a rapid pace if necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to complete incident reports and participate in investigations. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive matters. 

 

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:

  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Requires bending, reaching overhear, kneeling and use of stairs. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. 
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in extreme temperatures assisting with supervision of pool activity as assigned. 

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

  • Desktop computer (Opera, Oracle, Birchstreet, Ving, Traka, Key control System, CCTV Monitors, Kronos and Microsoft Office), printer, telephone, copier, fax machine and scanner and push to talk radio.
