Job Description

To fully develop the Catering Sales Market Segment with a focus on weddings, to merchandise as skillfully as possible the function space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible experience, and to achieve monthly revenue goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Catering & CS.

Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly revenue booking goals.
• Follow Booking Guidelines.
• Participate in sales trip targeting specific areas and group within market.
• Solicit accounts within assigned market segment.
• Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's stated Mission Statement.
• Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals and outside sales.
• Follow up promptly on leads generated by the Global Sales offices, Convention and Visitors Bureau , other Omni Hotels, and other lead sources.
• Active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
• Achieve budgeted revenues.
• Participates in development of direct mail and all promotions related to the segment needs.
• Maintain positive attitude and welcome change.

• Is current with all market-related publications in order to stay on top of all industry trends and uncover any potential leads.
• Achieve targeted referral goals for all Omni Hotels.
• Is fully aware of all corporate sponsored promotions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the Sales Action Plan (KRA's).
• Submit weekly and monthly sales reports on a timely basis.
• Maintain all files with accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity.
• Participate in the ongoing forecasting process.
• Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and systems.
• Promote a high-quality positive company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
• Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Senior Catering Sales Manager, and or like experience in event planning.
  • Experience within weddings preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a hotel setting, preferably 4 or 5 diamond resort.
  • Experience with Delphi is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
