Job Description

This individual will maximize revenues for the Omni Nashville Hotel through direct sales, marketing and designated activities specific to targeted sales accounts. Success is measured through increased revenues from the targeted segments, improved account revenue share and increased customer value.       

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a leader of the property’s group sales effort in support of the Director of Sales.
  • Ensure full maximization of rooms’ potential.
  • Maintain emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines.
  • Assist Director of Sales in developing, maintaining, and implementing strategies/ action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
  • Active solicitation of accounts to generate direct sales, with emphasis on key accounts in territory.
  • Stimulate productivity of express sales managers through guidance, development, and support.
  • Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a Proactive Solicitation environment.
  • Assists in developing, maintaining, and assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Recommends booking goals for express sales managers.
  • Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Manages the express team’s reactive and proactive sales efforts
  • Ensure a challenging and exciting environment to encourage full career development and personal growth for the express team and coordinators
  • Support and promote all Corporate programs to increase customer awareness of Omni Hotels and ensure that the customer receives the appropriate benefits of each program.
  • Develop and manage effective business plans for assigned segment.
  • Effectively maintain accounts to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify and stay abreast of industry trends to provide leadership and education regarding the business and leisure segments.
  • Work closely with DOS and DOSM to effectively communicate new trends and develop strategies to increase revenue.
  • Responsible for management of customer decisions and the relationship process.
  • Responsible for directing and leading activities through internal and external resources.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
  • Work closely with all levels of the organization to resolve complex issues or concerns; communicating in a clear concise manner.
  • Responsible for training, mentoring and directing of express sales managers and sales coordinators. 
  • Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a minimum of five years progressive experience in hotel sales.  Large convention hotel experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising a team
  • Mastery level understanding of sales process.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue. 
  • Demonstrated ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results. 
  • Experience with account management. 
  • Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. 
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary, working effectively under pressure.
  • Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.  
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Developed computer proficiencies with ability to accurately input information into computer systems 
  • Delphi experience required. Proficient in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.  
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Position requires up to 25% travel
  • The ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 40lbs.
  • Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
