Job Description

Join TRT Holdings, the parent of Omni Hotels, as an experienced Tax Manager. In this position you will focus on complex multistate tax compliance as well as assist with federal compliance, strategy, and analysis for a diverse portfolio of entities, including partnerships, corporations, trusts and individuals. This position is based in Dallas, TX at the Omni/TRT Corporate Office and is an in-office position.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead team in state tax compliance for multistate tax income/franchise/capital tax filings for TRT Holdings, Inc. and related entities.
    • Review and support the preparation of state income tax returns, including corporate, partnership, composite, and individual filings
    • Review and assist in the preparation of detailed workpapers for state tax estimates and extension filings
    • Review and support the preparation of multistate apportionment calculations in accordance with applicable state tax rules
  • Conduct multistate tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and identify potential tax-saving opportunities
  • Analyze the impact of federal tax law changes on state tax compliance and planning
  • Perform scenario-based modeling and calculations for entity conversions, acquisitions, investments, mergers and asset/stock transactions
  • Manage state income tax audits, including auditor communications, documentation gathering, status reporting to management and coordination with outside advisors as needed.
  • Evaluate and respond to multistate tax notices, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of the state income tax provision, including the analysis of year-end general ledger accounts and state net operating losses (NOLs)

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience with multistate tax, required
  • Ability to work with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, required
  • Experience with CCH Axcess and CCH Workpaper Manager/Engagement tax software, a plus
  • CPA, required
