Job Description

This position will participate in the month-end close responsibilities in a Corporate Accounting setting.  Attention to detail, a strong work-ethic, and an ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement are essential for success.  This individual will work closely with other individuals outside of the department on the financial process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct month end close processes including prepare and review of journal entries related to payroll and benefits
  • Analyze benefit invoices, researching and correcting discrepancies
  • Analyze and prepare various reports for management related to payroll and benefits
  • Analyze and resolve payroll and benefits variances
  • Analyze reports and schedules from the benefits department for correctness
  • Compile reports for management and Corporate accounting team
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations by interpreting the information and understanding the flow of transactions recorded and applying professional judgement and due diligence to make any necessary corrections to the general ledger
  • Support Corporate accounting team with month-end close/special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Prefer at least one year of accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and overall PC proficiency
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Motivated individual, who is goal and deadline oriented with great attention to detail
  • Strong discernment and trustworthiness as related to working with highly confidential information
