Opening in early 2027, Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially broken ground and construction is well underway on Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury resort in Mexico. Staying true to the brand’s mission of creating elevated places and spaces that are inspired by a destination, the resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary twist.

 

This beachfront resort will feature 244 guest rooms and suites and two 4-bedroom villas with sweeping views of the Bay of Banderas. Complementing the local area’s many attractions and activities, the resort will offer three original restaurant concepts, a destination spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools including adult-only and family-friendly options, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor fitness center, and a kids club. Boasting over 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Omni Pontoque will feature a 6,000 square foot ballroom, an open-air pavilion, multiple event lawns and dedicated meeting rooms, all of which provide breathtaking ocean views.

Job Description

Debuting in early 2027, the Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita will be Omni’s first owned and managed property in Mexico. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity as the opening Group Sales Manager, to establish Omni’s presence in Mexico.

 

Reporting to the Director of Group Sales, the Group Sales Manager is responsible for executing the resort’s group sales strategy and driving revenue from the Domestic Mexico and broader Latin America (LATAM) markets. This role focuses on proactive prospecting, relationship development, and securing group business that supports the resort’s overall revenue and occupancy goals.

 

The ideal candidate brings an established network of relationships within the Mexico and LATAM corporate, incentive, and group travel markets, along with a strong ability to cultivate new business through targeted outreach, client meetings, and industry engagement. The Group Sales Manager will actively manage the sales pipeline, pursue new opportunities, and represent the resort in key markets. Working closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing, as well as the Catering Sales, Conference Services, and Reservations teams, this role ensures seamless coordination throughout the sales and planning process to deliver an exceptional client experience while maximizing revenue opportunities. In addition to developing business within Mexico and LATAM, the Group Sales Manager will also support site inspections and client visits for U.S. based group clients, helping showcase the resort and assist in converting prospective business.

 

Location: Candidates must be based on-site in Punta de Mita to support collaboration with the resort team and client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Drive group room revenue through proactive solicitation, relationship development, and attentive account management.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, and industry partners to generate new and repeat business.
  • Manage a portfolio of group accounts while actively identifying and pursuing new opportunities that align with the hotel’s positioning and revenue goals.
  • Execute the hotel’s group sales initiatives in partnership with the Director of Sales and Marketing to support overall revenue performance.
  • Conduct property presentations, site inspections, and client meetings that showcase the resort’s exceptional offerings and guest experience.
  • Maintain a highly proactive sales approach through consistent prospecting, client engagement, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely with the Conference Services team to ensure seamless transition of group business and flawless event execution.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor positioning, and client feedback to identify opportunities for growth within assigned market segments.
  • Represent the resort with professionalism and enthusiasm at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to enhance visibility and generate leads.
  • Support forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management to ensure accurate tracking of sales activity and revenue performance.
  • Promote brand initiatives and corporate programs to enhance client engagement and maximize participation in Omni Hotels offerings.
  • Uphold the highest standards of service, ensuring that each client interaction reflects the sophistication and excellence of the resort.

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience in luxury hotel or resort sales preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English strongly preferred.
  • Opening resort experience a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of hotel or resort sales experience, with exposure to group business preferred.
  • Polished communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent a luxury brand with confidence and professionalism.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach to prospecting and business development.
  • Working knowledge of hotel sales systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Delphi, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
