Job Description

To strategically coordinate the revenue management processes and procedures for a collection of hotels to maximize each hotel’s rooms revenue. This is accomplished by managing and maintaining group and transient inventory controls, developing, monitoring and adjusting sales and pricing strategies, analyzing demand factors, forecasting and budgeting, competitive analysis, and maintaining distribution channel data integrity

Responsibilities

Managing and maintaining group and transient inventory controls (including weekends as needed):

  • Review of room accommodation and rate inventory controls in ORS and Guestrev. Maintain controls of each property, as needed
  • Work with Convention Services and Reservations as needed to ensure effective and efficient management of group inventory daily – provide direction when needed on cutoff date extensions and additions to inventory
  • Attend each hotel’s weekly group-pick-up meetings to ensure group inventory management is in place. Lead meetings when needed

 

Developing, monitoring and adjusting sales and pricing strategies:

  • Conduct weekly revenue management meetings for each hotel, providing global insight
  • Attend Daily Business Review and offer recommendations regarding group leads
  • Consistent review of Delphi reports, including the GRC and Backlog Reports
  • Identify group booking trends and need periods and work with the Director of Sales to develop sales strategies
  • Coordinate and implement updates for Transient Protected in Delphi for the 1 – 5 year window
  • Review each property’s annual transient pricing, provide recommendations and implement
  • Review Tour and Travel and Business Travel pricing strategies, provide recommendations and implement
  • Identify marketing opportunities and work with the Director of Marketing to develop programs for the hotels, particularly focused on distressed periods
  • Review Delphi Lost Business reports with the Director of Sales. Use the reports to determine unconstrained group demand and assist in configuration of Grouprev pricing application
  • Ensure property participation and data integrity in all forms of e-Distribution Channels
  • Provide critical analysis of strategies, room statistics and demand factors
  • Review end of month rooms statistics reports including Market Segmentation, STR, price resistance and provide critical analysis on performance vs. forecasts and results of implemented strategies
  • Prepare and analyze combined hotel reports on room and market share statistics
  • Review all daily and weekly booking pace reports for analysis on pace to recommend strategy changes
  • Analyze past and present trends and make recommendations for future strategies

 

Forecasting:

  • Prepare all weekly and monthly Rooms forecasts for each property
  • Prepare the transient 30-60-90 forecasts and Annual Budget for each property

 

Competitive and Demand Analysis:

  • Review all competitive shops in each hotel’s market and identify selling strategies and market trends
  • Shop hotel’s as well as competitions’ rates for multiple GDS, OTA and meta channels to ensure proper positioning of each hotel and assess competitive environment, along with maintaining parity
  • Review Demand calendars, convention calendars and city event calendars to keep abreast of all demand generators. Ensure each property contact utilizes all necessary demand information when planning strategies
  • Network with competitive set DORMs to maintain information on the various competitors’ products and services for both primary and stealth competitors and how their products and services vary from the hotels; network with Omni DORMs in major markets to keep abreast of national hotel trends and best practices
  • Review of historical data on events and performance on any promotions during these demand-generating events.

 

Administrative and Reservations:

  • Work with the General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure that all strategies are communicated to the Reservations Sales and Operations teams
  • Attend weekly Meetings to maintain communication of strategies and need periods

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

 

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

 

  • Answer other hotel team members’ questions regarding revenue management in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Provide training to other hotel team members on revenue management procedures and principles, as needed
  • Ensure that all rooms statistics reports, including the Financial Statement, and any other related reports are accurate and consistent
  • Ensure that all revenue management related systems are maintained, including: Opera, Guestrev, Grouprev, Epitome, Delphi. Employ the assistance of the Director of Sales, Director of Front Office, Digital Marketing Manager as needed
  • Contribute to the development of the marketing plan
  • Communicate with Directors of Front Office regarding anticipated occupancy and cross-selling opportunities

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • 4 year college degree required

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience with hotel industry revenue management, reservations and hotel property management systems required
  • Multi-property revenue management experience preferred
