The Omni Charlottesville Hotel offers 208 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites featuring panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, along with a full service restaurant and 12,000 square feet of meeting space. The Omni is located in the heart of downtown at the base of the downtown pedestrian mall. Our location offers a wide variety of local restaurants, pubs, entertainment venues, or even just to take a scenic walk and enjoy the culture of Charlottesville. Job Description:

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dynamic individual who brings strong industry relationships, revenue focused hotel experience and is interested in joining an industry leading company.  Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, you will engage with a team sales associates responsibly for account development and revenue gneration.   If you are goal oriented, energetic, have previous hospitality sales experience then we offer the perfect environment for you to succeed.  The purpose of this position is to develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate and optimize overall revenues, through direct sales that will impact positively on the hotel.  You will be responsible for achieving monthly room night and revenue goals, develop and implement strategic and tactical sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing or the Corporate Director, Travel industry 7 Business Travel sales.  Success is initially measured through annual sales, increased revenues, improved account revenue share, increased customer value and ultimately RevPAR index premiums.


  • Develop transient market segments and achieve room night and revenue goals for all assigned segments.
  • Maintain weekly telephone and outside sales calls, travel agency presentations and client entertainment.
  • Review arrivals report with Loyalty Ambassador and educate on criteria to identify prospects and leads.
  • Track all accounts daily including Consortia, ESP, and Travel segments.
  • Develop new accounts and maintain growth of existing accounts.
  • Participate in weekly marketing and rooms merchandising meetings, daily stand up and sales meetings as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Partner and maintain relationships with Global Travel industry sales team.
  • Attend monthly Travel industry team conference calls with the Omni Service Center.
  • Implement and maintain Omni brand standards.
  • Develop, maintain and implement strategies/action plans to generate revenues for the hotel
  • Active solicitation of key accounts to generate direct sales.
  • Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis.
  • Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in city activities, industry associations and if required trade shows.
  • Provide proper collateral and information vehicles to keep customers informed and updated on the hotel.
  • Support and promote all Corporate programs to increase costumer awareness of Omni Hotels & Resorts.


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in business, communications, or hotel management preferred
  • Two years or more related experience in sales work at a conference hotel.
  • Must have experience in "cold call" solicitation, contract closing, site inspections/visits with clients, setting up family trips and contract negotiations.
  • Participate in development training through OBCR and ongoing with Omni Hotels & Resorts.
  • Remain current with all pertinent computer software programs and equipment
  • Have working knowledge of all departments, the Resort and its amenities.
  • Participate in all sales meetings and line-ups.
  • Submit SMART Plans & Development Goals, and Market Place Action Plans yearly.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Word and access database tools.
