    Job Description

    Omni Hotels and Resorts creates genuine, authentic guest experiences at over 60 distinctive luxury hotels and resorts in leading business gateways and leisure destinations across North America. Omni Charlotte Hotel recently completed a $30 million dollar renovation inspired by Charlotte’s gold rush with a nod to precious metals, coins and extravagance including 374 guestrooms, Trade restaurant, a redesigned exterior façade and motor lobby, and Uptown’s best new roof top venue - Coin Bar.


    The Omni Charlotte Hotel is seeking for a dynamic, creative, high energy Sales Manager to help sell the corporate and convention market segments. This position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be responsible for developing and booking assigned markets with emphasis on production from mid-market to large groups. Be a part of the newly built Sales Team that is leading Omni Charlotte to the top of the charts.


    • Prospect and develop accounts within the assigned market segment
    • Achieve budgeted room night, rates and revenue bookings goals and achieve targeted referral goals for all Omni Hotels.
    • Merchandise function space and attain maximum average rate and room rental wherever appropriate
    • Must be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilities, facilities and amenities, as well as local businesses and attractions.
    • Is current with all market related publications, in order to stay on top of all industry trends and uncover potential leads.
    • Deliver proposals and contracts within 24 hours of request
    • Submit weekly and monthly sales reports in a timely basis; participate in the ongoing forecast process.
    • Maintain aggressive weekly phone/in person solicitation
    • Conduct site tours and communicate thoroughly any site tour needs to other departments.
    • Provide catering services for majority of in-house conventions and maximize catering revenues through up-selling techniques.
    • Follow-up promptly on leads generated by the National Sales office, Convention and Visitors Association and other Omni Hotels.
    • Must be fully aware of all corporate sponsored promotions.
    • Communication with clients prior to conventions to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.
    • Physically double-check all function arrangements against specifications of client.
    • Client contact and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings.
    • Maintain files, and current trace dates, accurate history and all relevant booking activity.
    • Assist with lobby duty coverage.
    • Participate in daily and/or weekly Sales meetings as assigned.
    • Assist with the career development of sales/catering assistants.
    • Support a positive work environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service.
    • Represent the Omni Brand and Culture at all times; meeting the expectations outlined in the Omni leadership competencies
    • Promote a high quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
    • Be actively engaged with our guests and hotel associates, demonstrating and rewarding Power of One behaviors
    • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
    • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications
    • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.


    • Must have strong customer service, communication, presentation, and selling/closing  skills
    • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
    • Prior sales management experience required (or successful completion of Omni LID program)
