    Omni has been selected by Oklahoma City as the developer, owner and operator of a 605-room convention center hotel. The hotel is located next to the Chesapeake Energy Arena and will coincide with the development of the new Oklahoma City Convention Center and 70-acre Scissortail Park.

     

    The new build will include an all-day dining outlet, an entertainment sports bar, specialty restaurant, coffee shop and a retail outlet. Additionally, guests can enjoy a spa, fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar complete with a fire pit, outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel will also have 75,000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20,500 square foot ballroom and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space that overlooks the park. The hotel is estimated to break ground in October 2018 and open in late 2020.

    Job Description

    The National Sales Manager will generate group revenue for the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel by acquiring and developing new, referred, and repeat group business within their assigned market segments. They will be involved in setting and executing strategic sales plans related to their territory and expected to generate and secure large convention room block opportunities and optimize overall revenues through direct sales on behalf of the hotel. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and seasoned professional who enjoys a fast paced environment and is passionate about interacting with our clients, guests and associates to strategically elevate the performance and reputation of our hotel and company within the Oklahoma City market. 

    Responsibilities

    • Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
    • Meet or exceed weekly, quarterly and annual sales goals, targets and initiatives.
    • Develop, actively solicit, and map group business accounts per defined territory.
    • Maintain a complete database of accounts in defined territories.
    • Identify and qualify potential prospects through participating in telemarketing, tradeshows, sales blitzes and other sales initiatives.
    • Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads, following up with clients in-house to identify additional business opportunities and aggressively managing accounts.
    • Follow all Group Sales Standards of Operation and policies and procedures (generating and completing all necessary forms, correspondence, etc.).
    • Properly convey rate and package information within approved limits to maximize and protect our overall resort revenue yields.
    • Perform in a manner that demonstrates the philosophies of The Power of One and Omni Hotels in a professional manner to clients and potential clients at every opportunity.
    • Maintain customer relations, GSO relations, trade relations, industry relations and staff relations.
    • Promote all Omni Properties and offer information to clients to cross sell the brand, as well and promote other memberships and relationships available for members at participating resorts.
    • Work closely with all departments such as Convention Services and Reservation Sales departments to ensure that all details are communicated for to ensure a successful meeting experience.
    • Perform other tasks as needed or directed to ensure effective hotel operations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Five years or more related experience in group sales at a full service convention hotel or resort required
    • Must have experience in "cold call" solicitation, contract closing, site inspections/visits with clients, setting up fam trips and contract negotiations.
    • Prior experience working with global sales organizations and Convention Bureau’s is required
    • Remain current with all pertinent computer software programs and equipment
    • Have working knowledge of all departments, the hotel and its amenities.
    • Must be willing to travel and represent and sell the Hotel during Trade Shows and Conventions
